What Fruit Does for Your Body

We all know that fruit is healthy, but each variety of fruit has its own good qualities. What are the things fruit can do for your body?

Bilberries

Bilberries contain vitamines A, B and C. In the Second World War, pilots used these berries against night blindness. Bilberries contain anthocyanin, which has an antioxidizing effect. Because of this, it breaks down certain toxic substances. Bilberries are also very good for pregnant women, because they take away many pregnancy complaints.

Lemon

Lemon strengthens the capillary walls, preventing bruises. This means lemon works well against varicose veins and haemorrhoids. Lemon strengthens the immune system, so it is a good thing to use in cases of flu, a cold or a sore throat, and it is also good for the intestines. It is better not to drink undiluted lemon juice, because the sour juice corrodes the teeth. Mixing it with (warm) water and some honey is a good alternative. Lemon juice also strengthens the nails and makes them whiter. The best thing to do is to soak your nails in a thin layer of warm water with lemon juice for ten minutes. Afterwards they will also be nice and soft!

Grapefruit

Grapefruit is very healthy for the body, but it also helps you lose weight. Grapefruit contains a substance which lowers the blood sugar level. Because of this, a meal's calories can be converted into energy instead of fat more easily

Lime

Lime can help against cellulite, colds, infections of the airways, and it helps you concentrate better. For the treatment of cellulite, the juice has to be rubbed on the skin.

Strawberries

Strawberries slow down the ageing process, so elderly people's cognitivity will deteriorite less quickly if they eat strawberries several times a month. Eating strawberries also prevents cellulite. Strawberries can also get rid of tartar if you brush your teeth with strawberry juice. They also make your teeth whiter.

Pineapple

Pineapple strengthens your bones and stimulates the growth of bones in young people. It also strengthens your gums and lowers the risk of blood clots, and therefore the risk of heart conditions.
